Flag-Smasher is a Marvel Comics character, typically depicted as an anti-nationalist terrorist. There have been multiple individuals who have adopted the mantle, but the original and most well-known is Karl Morgenthau. He is the son of a Swiss banker who was killed during an anti-globalization riot.

Morgenthau became disillusioned with nationalism, believing it to be a destructive force that fueled conflict and oppression. He founded ULTIMATUM (Underground Liberated Totally Integrated Mobile Army To Unite Mankind), an organization dedicated to eliminating national borders and promoting global unity through violent means. His goal was to create a world without nations, believing it would eliminate war and inequality.

Flag-Smasher is typically portrayed as a physically formidable opponent, skilled in hand-to-hand combat and the use of various weapons. He frequently clashes with Captain America and other heroes who represent national ideals. Later iterations of the character share similar motivations, often reflecting contemporary political anxieties about globalization and nationalism.
